I'm intriqued by the Luxus Model 11's, and would like those who own them give a description on how the bottom lever works, the difference between the FQ and LT design, and how the rifle cocks / uncocks. Does it cock quietly enough for close range whitetail hunting. Accuracy? Anything else you can add. I've visited their website and it's not very informative. Thanks for your responses.

Pulling up on the bottom lever extension allows the action to open. I think the different design levers are only cosmetic differences. The hammer has a short range of motion needing a fairly stiff pull to cock it. Uncocking the hammer is by holding the hammer, pulling the trigger and easing the hammer down (the old fashioned way). It seems to be quiet; I've not noticed it. Accuracy is very good for me and I've posted pictures of mine here before a couple of times if you search for my old posts.

Absolutely gorgeous gun!

mdstewart, are you considering the deluxe or the standard model? We have a dealer up here in Canuckistan who has a number of each in stock, and I am lusting after the "basic" model, but in photos it appears as though the scope mount would position the scope much too far to the rear for comfortable use. Have you handled one and noticed this?

I'm still contemplating the Luxus. Biebs has made me a great offer on the one he has displayed here. If I get one, I'll buy Biebs'. After just buying Subsailor's DR from Bailey Bradwshaw, I'm about broke at present. Gotta sell some things to buy something else.

Todd, yes, it would be like an old Westley or Jeffery Farquharson. How big do they go now...375 H&H?

Rigby made more Farquharson actioned rifles in 450NE than in any other caliber.

It should be pointed out that these are not falling block rifles. For a good while I thought the action was similar to the Ruger 1 or the Farquharson. Not until I had one in my hand did I learn that the action is a break-open type, much like a Thompson Center Encore. The look and styling of the Luxus is executed very well but it resembles the Farquharson in appearance only.

My 6BR Norma shoots 3/4 in groups on average, and I am getting a 30/30 barrel with sights made as we speak.

Some of the features are well explained below.
My rifle is a custom grade with a 26" barrel in 257 Wby. This rifle is one of the most accurate rifles I ever owned. It shoot three shots in one hole at 100 yrds.

Not only that it has a very nice looking stock. I only toke 4 shots to sight it in. I had a chance to pick this stock. The action is case colored.

One shot at a three year old WT buck at 180 yards dropped him in his tracks. I have not hand loaded for this rifle but the factory Wby ammo
has nothing to complain a bout.

The rifle has a 3-9 Leupold scope. In the factory mount.
The only complaint I have is the weight of the complete rifle over 8lbs. Even though I picked
A light piece of wood.

I would like another barrel but the gong show
across the Border really taxes my patience and good will. Because the rifle has to go back to the factory in the US..

Just ordered a new Luxus two barrel set last week. Fabulous wood, case colors, rust blued barrels, red pad, charcoal screws. .300 H&H and .22-250. Really looking forward to that rifle; plan to take her to Scotland in the fall for stag.

Excited about this one.
