I have a new Encore barrel headed my way in 6.5x284 Winchester, Any body got any favorite loads. It is a 1-8 twist 26 inch tube. I was planning on using 6.5-06 data as a reference and working from that data. Any powder preferences or bullet weight combo's that give anyone the warm fuzzies in this caliber?

Lapua brass, 140 grain berger VLD bullet, 51 to 53 grains of H4831SC any primer you like, I use Federal. In a 29" barrel you will get 2900 to 3000 fps.

I use 48 gr of RL 22 pushing a 120 gr Barnes XLC. Fed 210 primers and Hornady Brass.

My barrell is a 24" barrel from Bullberry.

Note: I found load data for this round to vary wildly. Data in the Speer Manual tops out where the Nosler data starts . . . and the top of the Nosler Data tops out 2-3 grains below where the Barnes data starts. If your chamber is really tight, start with data from a manual like Speer that starts off low.
