Pictures are courtesy of a fellow AR member, sorry I don’t remember his name. He does have a real nice rig though. They are Moulds 2 piece bases. The link for them is below the pictures.

What sort of scope mounts are you looking to use?

There are various adaptors available such as this one.

Otherwise, quarter ribs are usually a custom job. This is one I had done to accept Talley rings as part of a full custom upgrade

Hope this helps.

Stu;

Can you give particulars on this rib/mount?

Who did the work? Rough order of merit for cost etc.

I desire to QD mount a low power (burris compact 2-7) optic high enough to also have an express sight (fixed and one, maybe two leaves) w/o spending more than about 1/3 of what the rifle costs....

Using the stock rib, I must use a folding rear sight, which is not what I desire to do.

Thanks;

Andrew

Andrew,

All the metalwork on that rifle was done by Bob de Vries (Kudu Services) in Melbourne, Australia. I don't know the cost of the rib by itself as it was a full custom commission.

BTW, the rear sight on my rifle is a folding sight. Yes, it can be tricky finding the right scope, scope base and open sight combination that works on one of these Rugers. I have a Doctor Optic 3-9x40 1" tube scope on this rifle. It has just enough eye relief and tube length to work for me.

cheers,

I'm not sure why you don't lioke the factory 1/4 rib. If yo uodn't like the rings, you can use Warne as replacements in the factory 1/4 rib.
