A local shop has what I think is a Eli Whitney rolling block sporting rifle cahmberd for the .32 Rimfire. The gun is in overall VG condition but the bore is shot out. Traces of blue and perhaps case color are there, screws aren't buggered. Octagon barrel, raer sight slot is filled and the tand sight was removed. Any idea of value? Thanks, Rob

This is a little bit of guessing but $200 would be about all I'd pay for it. An american or foreign version of the Rem #1 roller is worth about $400-$600 as a suitable action alone for a .45-70 or larger BPCR rifle. The Whitney gets demerits from this for being a Whitney as opposed to a Rem, for having a rimfire block, and (possibly) for being a smaller frame than is useful for the .45 basic cartridges. I'm not sure about this last issue. There are full sized Whitneys, I'm just not sure if this is one of them. Brent When there is lead in the air, there is hope in my heart -- MWH ~1996
