Never owned a B78, but I have owned several low walls, one in .22-250 with the octagonal barrel. It was a real tack driver and very beautiful

| I have one with a round bull barrel in that caliber that does quite well. |

| Their triggers can be fussy. My gunsmith had a .25-06 and he loved it but was always cussing that darned trigger because it wouldn't hold a constant pull.

| I have a friend who has one in 22-250. Its is a tackdriver. I have one in 30.06, also a tackdriver. The trigger is ok. The only thing I don't care for is the clearance between the hammer and the scope. It's a little tight with gloves on. Otherwise very nice rifles. |

| I had a 78 in 22/250 many years ago, wish I'd kept it now. It was a bit picky about loads but shot the cheapo red box federal very well and some selected handloads extremely well. It had a bad habit of shifting zero for no reason I could ever find, and I got mad one day and traded it off. |

| I don't recall which # it was but I had what they called the "Black Powder Hunter", I believe. It was in 45-70 and it wouldn't hold a candle to either of my Shiloh Sharps. Good rifle and accurate enough, just not in the same class as the Shiloh.
