Wonderful news if you are a Sharps fan. My friend drug me over to the Boise Gunshow yesterday morning. Kirk Bryant was there with the Shiloh display. Like the centerfold in Playboy, there was a genuine M1877, aka the "Overbaugh" or "O" model front and center. Hunting rifle, but wow! The Bryants bought the moulds and tooling nearly two years ago from Carmen Axtell. Kirk thinks the rifles will run about the same as their Long Range Express Model 1874's.

I got in on a walk through tour of the shop back in October and they had a good sized batch of receivers lined up that looked to have pretty advanced machining completed at that time. There very well may be a few of them finished up by now. The Shiloh folks had a very nice original on hand, I'd imagine to to help get their version just right. I'd agree on the wow part, kept going back to look over the project.

A friend owes me about $300, due at the end of the month. I think I am going to order one when the money comes in. I owned one of Carmen Axtell's, and it was a well balanced rifle in 45-70. A 45-90 would be even better. Order now, and be able to pick it up on the way to the Quigley Rifle Match next June.
