I recently picked up one of these actions at a gunshow and ideas of a new toy filled my brain. I did some research and learned they where used by the Egyptian Government in a shotgun using a proprietary 14gauge shell. I was just wondering if anyone had experience or heard of anyone converting one of these into a rifle, mainly .45-70 and so on.

i converted one of those shotgun actioned martini's years ago to 45 colt that the customer wanted. if yours still has that multi prongrd firing pin set up ,you will have to have it converted to a standard style.

Shooter 42, I was just reading about that and apparently you can simply grind it off to a stanard tip. TD, are you using blackpowder loads in the .45-70 or full power smokeless? I was thinking since I already have a 45-70 lever gun, something like a .40-70 Sharps Necked.
