Hi Guys, I love the 9.3 but all of the singles and doubles I have found were very light weight. I'm looking for a heavier model. Do any of you have any ideas where I can find one? Thanks for your time!!

There are Ruger Number 1 at about 8 pounds. Here is one , http://www.cabelas.com/product/Ruger-No-x/1279408.uts Mark

Nut, I hear you about the featherweights in this caliber. Not much fun to shoot. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

I believe the one made bu Krieghoff is a bit heavier than the Blaser DB Bill aka Bill George

know what you mean; my Chapuis DR weighed less than eight pounds, with mounts and a 2-7X Leupold on it. Maybe a better pad...?

Not a single shot, but the Chapuis 9.3 DR is a terrible design; barrels are too light and stock drop is too steep. I sold mine after test firing; too painful to shoot. I know, everyone else loves them.

In three trips to Africa, I have killed more game with the Chapuis than any other rifle I have taken. That said, they either fit or not...

The Ruger #1 at 8# plus steel scope rings plus a VX6 1-6 IL, one sling and a round in the chamber will likely push 9.5# all up. My Merkel 141 pushes 6.5# without scope and 8# dead even scoped with two in the pipes. That Merkel is...pretty firm on the recoil. My handload is a tad conservative. 286 gr. at 2250 fps (clocked) is just about enough fun for me on that rifle. PS: I can't wait to get out hunting with that double...
