I've looked at three different Pedersoli tang sights. Two of them looked servicable but not great. The third Pedersoli tang sight had a very crude fit and finish to it that made me do a double take on the manufacturer. There were machine and tool marks on every surface of the sight uncluding the venier scale. Unfortunately I do not know when each sight was produced so cannot say if Pedersoli had problems and cleaned them up or made good sights before having problems that need to be cleaned up. Several shooters at my range have Pedersoli Rifles and sights and I have not heard complaints about repeatability but they are always shooting at 50 to 100 yards so they may not be testing the repeatability of their sights. The best sights I know of are made by Montana Vintage Arms. There are a few other manufacturers in the arena. The MVA sights are excellent, repeatable the couple of times I've tried 300 vs 100 yards. Axtel is another name that comes to mind, I think they make the tang site that comes with some of the Shilohs. The one that was on mine had a good fit and finish, no windage adjustment but didn't have a leadscrew on the elevation adjustment so it was hard to make fine changes. Unclamp the apeture from the tang and it would move, move it back and it would move some more when you clamped it down.

I just received/installed the Pedersoli mid-range tang sight modified by Lee Shaver. It's by far the nicest $150.00 Soule tang sight I've ever seen. The windage/elev. adjustments are very positive (minimal thread backlash) and the marks on the staff and slider are easy to read. It fit the tang of my Pedersoli Sharps perfectly and it looks good. There are a couple of little casting flaws on the staff (Pedersoli, not Lee Shaver's work)but they are hardly noticeable. The sight I received looks a little different than the ones in the pictures posted by "Bad Ass Wallace" but it's very similar. The Pedersoli LONG range Creedmore tang sight I bought with the rifle will soon be on it's way to Lee Shaver for a "Soule" conversion. Going to the range tomorrow to try the new sight and I'm sure it will work fine. From what I've seen so far I doubt you'll find a better sight for $150.00, or a lot more for that matter. Jon
