Ruger rear sight swap, Alaskan to No.1

I am going to purchase a Ruger No.1 in 450-400. The standard model has the folding rear sight, the Boddington has the "upgraded" fixed rear sight that is very similar (OK probably the same) as that which comes on the new .375/416 alaskan models.
.
I have a scoped .375 Alaskan, does anyone know for certain if I could just pull this rear sight and exchange it with one off of a new No1.
Then I would have the better sight on the open sight No.1 and a decent emergency sight on the bolt gun.

Any thoughts?

Thanks much. I read it. Works but gun shot low.

I am also thinking, or rethinking a 450/400 No1.

I too prefer a classic fixed rear site.

I read somewhere that Ruger will sell the spare express sights for the #1 for like $8.00. That is well worth it.

I have a Ruger #1 450/400 and it's going to the range for the first time tomorrow. I'll post a report after.
I'm also interested in this express sight. Sure would like to see a picture of it.

I went with the NewEnglandCustomGun Ruger peep
sight to increase the sight radius and improve sight picture. For $85 it comes with 2 screw-in
aptatures (larger hole and smaller hole) You can even leave the aptature out and it works like a ghost ring. This sight fits in the rear scope
ring block on the 1/4 rib and is easily removable so a scope can be installed with the included rings. Great sight package and much better accuracy at the range. Fast target acquisition too. For scope I chose the Trijicon Amber Post 1.25-4X with one inch tube. Great for DG. If you are not color blind then select the Red Post. Fits fine in the Ruger supplied rings and changing from scope to Peep sight does not change POI more than 1/2 inch. Guess I got lucky. I use this system on 2 Guns, Ruger #1Hs
in 450/400 and 405 Win. Good shooting

If you have the serial number of a .375, you can call the Ruger parts dept and they will sell you the sight parts for that rifle. I don't think the sight blades will interchange, but not having seen a Boddington, I can't be sure. The entire sight for a Ruger M77 Alaskan will cost about $50.

Well, I just found the answer to my own question. I recently bought one of the Boddington Ruger No.1 450NE rifles. I did not have any calipers handy, but the rear sight blade on my No.1 is about 20-25% TALLER than the sight blade on my alaskan. Obviously they would NOT directly exchange and maintain proper sighting heights.
