the bell and carlson is a synthetic and the last time i tried to get a #1 stock from ruger i was told that ithey would only replace the stock with one of the original style and the gun had to be sent to them. check, things might have changed

There are quite a few parts Ruger won't sell, but will only "factory install" on a gun you return to them. Stocks and forends are one of these items, as are barrels, bolts, etc.
