Anyone know of a source for an exploded view of the 1897 Model Westly Richards. Thanks ****************************************************************** R. Lee Ermey: "The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his rifle." ****************************************************************** We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! There's a company in Oklahoma making a set of castings for them. Oklahoma Territorial Arms, or Rodney Storey IIRC. In 2008 one of their employees had built one and shot it at the Quigley. Neat rifle. I brought some $$$ last year in the hopes that he would return and consider selling it. It worked out okay, I bought one of the CPA Shuttleworth-Stevens 44 1/2's with barrels in 22lr, 40-65, and 45-70. I'd still like to buy one someday. Rich

Rich, please be wary of dry-firing the CPA rimfire barrel, they have a tendency to burr the chamber and mar the FP nose. Apparently CPA doesn't check their proper FP nose protrusion on RFs, I've seen several with marred chambers and actually had to make a chamber ironer for a friend's repair job. Some folks will say that a RF should never be dry-fired; I disagree most emphatically. All QUALITY rimfire rifles and handguns will stand unlimited dry-firing with no damage whatever, in fact IMO this dry-firing test can be considered somewhat definitive in evaluating a RF arm's quality and desirability. If the chamber burrs then the weapon is faulty, period, end of discussion. Didn't mean to hijack the thread, I too would love to see drawings of the Farq action! Also not wanting to hijack the thread, but.... Joe, if you will supply me with the action, I'll supply you with all of the drawings you can stand. Fair trade? Jeff

thanks for the warning. I have made it a practice, from Day One; to always have a spent casing in when dry-firing. Peace of mind for a penny! I would like to have an 1897. I think I told you I have a Steve Earle #1 Frank Wesson Long Range action sitting here by the desk...? Some drab and dreary winter days it's enough to just open the box and handle it a little. Idaho, how about some pictures of the Stevens? I have an old stevens 44 hung on my wall. They have great lines. DW
