I have either a Leo VXII 3x9, Weaver V10 2x10 or Grand Slam 6.5x20 needing a rifle. I;m guessing 3x9 shoud be plenty. What distance are these good for?

My 17 HMR's have been good out to about 200 yds on rabbits. The CZ shot 3/8" groups at 200 off the bench when the wind wasn't blowing. It had a 3x9 Leupy on it and that seemed like plenty. I would go with the Leupold Vari X II 3-9x40. I have one on my Ruger M77 22.
