I have been working on this project for a while and soliciting information here on some of the trickier parts such as threading and cutting the extractor clearances. This started out life for me as a cut down from the original military dress with a 16 inch barrel chambered in 30-30.
I found an unused early 70's model Fagen stock which I wanted to use on this one ever since I seen one as a kid (Im older than that now) . There is a picture of one in Frank DeHaas book on single shots that I wanted to duplicate. Anyhow its up and running. With a McGowen 26 inch barrel #3 McGowen taper chambered in 7-30 Waters nice thing about having been chambered for 30-30 the extractor was already to use, has a recessed crown. Belgium Blue on the metal and 5 coats of TruOil Still think I will work the shine down somemore. Used a Weaver62A base and have a set of high rings ordered. Medium are on the gun now. Anyhow its been 20+ years getting this particular gun built so I am happy. The whole purpose was to build a retro stocked rifle, and there are not many of these stocks left in the world it took a number of years to find one unused.

Very nice, l made one using a Fajen teardrop but stock and my own design fore end about 1970 in 222R rimmed using a locally manufactured barrel, looks very similar to yours almost a twin, l hope you are as happy with your rifle as l have been with mine. The Martini makes up into a very nice compact rifle capable of very accuracy that matches or exceeds most of the gear available today, Shoot it and enjoy using your 100 year old new rifle.

Rolland,
Did I sell you that stock? I sold one to someone on AR, and wondered what it would look like finished up. Nice work!

Very nice, mine is still a work in progress for the past five years. I keep getting sidetracked, hope it turns out as well as yours.
