ive been wanting to own a sharps or 1885 ssfor a long time but when i first saw one they were 300.00 now there out of sight any suggestions as to finding one thats in the price range of 400.00? | ||

Not one that you would want to put your face behind. Don't know where you been for the last 10+ yrs but the decent Sharps clones have always been double that $400 mark so far as I can tell. Probably the best deal you will find will be on a Uberti highwall (Win 85). But it will probably be double your $400 mark or more. thats what i was afraid id hear oh well maybe i can find someone who wants to trade for some of my older rifles ive got a 73 win in 38/40 a 1894 orig in 25/25 and an orig 1885 win lowwall in 22 long its not a shooter but the others are | |||

Richard, email me more about your .22 low wall, nonshooter at brentd@iastate.edu. I might be willing to trade some cash for it. Is it a large or small shank? If you don't know, we might have to figure it out somehow. I can find the correct dimensions for them, but not sure if there are any identifying marks.
