Is anybody making reproduction 4 Bore rifles in either cased or percussion format? Thinking I need something really big and fun but not fancy or collectable. ____________________________________________ "If a man can't trust himself to carry a loaded rifle out of camp without risk of shooting somebody, then he has no business ever handling a rifle at all and should take up golf or tennis instead." I guess some of it depends on what you call "fancy". There are a couple of guys making nice muzzleloading 4 bores and probably more. There do not seem to be any "budget" cartridge 4 bores and few actions available at any price short of full custom.

I happened to stumble across a 8 bore rifled pipe while surfing recently.. About $800 IIRC. But it was on the other side of the Atlantic. Importing might be a problem! There was one floating around for some time; a 4-bore single Farquharson-type rifle made by Ken Owen. It also came with a 700 NE barrel as well, from what I remember. Might want to Google Ken Owen and see if a listing shows up somewhere.

If you need info on the rifle Biebs refers to above, contact me as I have the info. Although the maker of the one I know of is Clayton Nelson. Colin also makes a percussion pistol in 4-bore, as well as single or double rifles. Somewhere here is a video of me shooting it last May. He is building me a Ten Bore double Paradox Rifle as I type this. Rich

I just saw a Farquharson-type single on one of the sites last night with barrels in 600 NE and 700 NE. I think it was $28K.
