Howdy Guys, I have a Ruger #1V stainless with a Laminate stock. I just cant seem to make myself like the looks of the Laminate. Where can I find a nice set of walnut ect for the Ruger? I would be open to tradin my lams for a nice set of woods that will fit my #1V

Thanks
Bill

By the prices I have seen for #1 wood you will have to really dislike the laminate stock

I am one gun away from being happy

I have to agree. That gray laminated stock sure is ugly. A natural laminated light and dark, like maple walnut would make it more pleasing if they have to have a laminated stock.

I would like to have a 204 #1 but that ugly stock is not for me.

I had George at Treebone Carving make me a stock set. Very nice work, but quality isn't cheap.

To have the pistol grip stick out below the bottom of the stock is a very poor design and looks like an add on. If a longer grip is needed then the radius of the grip needs to be bigger a 3.5" distance from the ctr of the trigger to the tip of the grip is usually more than enough for most hands. See my design.
