Browning and Winchester came out with Low Wall remakes in 1990s and 2000s... Does anyone know which is the most powerful caliber they ever did?
If you had to pick between a 405 and a 45/70 which would you take? thanks

Do you mean the Low Wall or the High Wall?
The Low Wall´s where chambered for rounds from the .22Hornet, .22-250 up to the .243Win.
The .405WCF and the .45-70 only chambered in the High Wall´s.

I have a .45-70 Browning High Wall. One of my best and beloved rifles. Shot´s with handloads and at a good day Wink under one inch groups at 100m.
The .405WCF chambering is very rare. In Germany I never saw one. I have also a .30-30 High Wall, the same great and accurate rifle. At the moment I´m thinking to buy a BPCR, made by/for Winchester. It´s new, and the price is nearly at 2400.-€. Expensive, but it´s a really nice rifle.

Davidson's has carbines, rifles, and a special 28 or 30" Octagon barrelby Winchester in 405 for around $850-900, depending on the local dealer you use.

The 45-70 loaded with heavy Garret, Corbon, Buffalo Bore, or stout handloads leaves the 405WCF in the dust!

FISH!!

Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984:

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."
