I WAS THINKING OF BUILDING A RIFLE OUT OF A XP100. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT RIFLE STOCKS ARE I COULD USE FOR THIS. ANY HELP IN THIS MATTER WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANK YOU.

Chance: Several years ago I had an XP-100 action made into a heavy Varminting Rifle in caliber 6mm BR. It is one of my all time favorite Rifles. Supremely accurate, attractive and reliable. I had a heavy 26 1/2" Hart barrel screwed directly onto the action with no recoil lug in between! The Riflesmith squared up a radiused 90 degree ledge on the bottom of the XP-100 action and used that as the recoil lug bedding it in Marine-Tex! Nifty trick this and I am sure it adds to the accuracy! I ordered a stock from McMillan inletted specifically for the XP-100. It is a copy of the old Winchester Marksman (Target) stocks used on the pre-64 Winchester Model 70's. Superb stock this is for Varminting and bench fun! So I am sure that McMillan can still make the XP-100 inletted actions in probably all models of their stock line. I have not checked on this recently but in the past they made them! Good luck with your XP-100 Rifle! Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

I only have guns built on XP's, exception is 700 VSS in 17, the actions are shorter than 700 SA I put one in a 40x single shot stock, just routed out from reoil lug back and pillar bedded it. I had the action screw moved back 1/2 inch so I could get more threads in action. the link is to pics of some of my XP's ? e-mail is Bradyhawks@aol.comPICS
