I saw a Savage Model 219 in .30-30 at a local pawn shop. Asking price was $250.00, which I thought was high. Blueing had turned brown and the stock had been finished in a GLOSSY polyurathane. The action was tight and the bore was bright, with no pitting. Anybody give me some feedback on the Model 219---accuracy, calibers, value, etc. I do know that the barrel is interchangeable and Savage made it in .22 hornet and I believe .25-20 also.

D J: Yes to the 25/20 ,and add 32/20 to list of what was available in the Sv 219. $250 seems steep for the condition described... fwiw, Idabull

Those 219's were the cheapest new rifle one one could buy.

It's really hard to adjust the trigger and the headspace for that matter. I had one in .22 Hornet as a loner rifle when I was a kid. It would shoot ok with a light load.

A buddy hit an unlucky crow with it at long range.

I would not have space in my safe for one regardless of the price.
