The 2 best makers are supposed to be ballard and Mecheam Which is best and why is one better than the other . what are the davantages of buying one over the other

Ballard is best in my opinion. There are other opinions, but Ballard is parts interchangable with the original. Meacham sorta is, but not entirely. Also, there is some reason to believe that Meacham's highwall jigs are off a bit resulting in tang-mounted sights being of center using all the windage in the sight to reach a zero in normal weather.
