The extractor on my new 500S&W barrel seems loose. it is entiirely too easy to slip the case past the extractor. Is this a common problem? How do I fix it?

I had the same problem on my Encore 500 S&W barrel. I called T/C who sent me a new extractor which was worse than the first. I then sent the barrel to T/C who fixed it; it now works perfectly.

You pay the shipping to T/C but they pay the shipping back. It took me close to 2 months to get the barrel back.

The extractors are sized by letters and the 500S&W should use size "D". I had the same problem and the extractor was size "C" so I put in a size "E", which was a little too high and was binding the fired case. Not having a size "D" handy I ground/sanded this one to fit so it works ok now. I will eventually replace it with the proper size extractor, which are easily changed.
