Glenn I have a 6.5 and a 30/06 barrel. Just ordered a 270 barrel today. I am having blaser in Germany build me a attaché k95 in 9.3x74. No idea when that will be done. Hopefully in 2020. I am looking at a 222 rem or a 22 hornet as the next barrel. Barrels in k95 are getting tough to come by. Mike

NO, Both were purchased pre-enjoyed, on GunBroker IIRC.

I have the Merkel K1 in 9.3 x 74R. I think you will really enjoy it in your Blaser. Recoil seems to be more like a shove than than the sharp thump of a magnum. Hard to argue against 286 gr Partitions at 2100-2300 FPS I luv both the 22 hornet, and have rifles chambered for the 17 Ackley Hornet and the 19 Calhoon(19-22hornet) to boot. I don't think you could go wrong with either, however of the two I prefer the "Deuce". I happened to find a two barrel set of K1's with 30-06 Springfield and 222 Rem barrels plus two sets of Recknagel Rings, one 1", the other 30mm. The "Deuce" is a sweetie-pie! ya! GWB

Turns out blaser does not make a 223 in k95. It’s is too military a caliber I guess when 80 percent of rifles are in 308. The 222 are going to be tough to get. Blaser is really not making off the run barrels unless one builds a higher end k95 - attaché ect. I am hoping to get a 22 hornet. Otherwise just shoot a lot of my 6.5 creedmoor and 270 light loads. I think these were older models imported to America. Everything now is hog back which I personally like. Mike

How much does them puppies cost, and who is the distributer, I think Id like one to try out. How do they compare with a ruger no. 1-A or 1-S single shot.. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com

Lower end version around $4500-$5500. Scope mount is another $450-475. Additional barrels around $1500. Much lighter gun than the number 1. Better accuracy and more consistent in its accuracy. Mike

Ray, The break action is much lighter than the drop block style of the Ruger and easier to remove both rimmed & rimless cases in my opinion. Used K95's when available can be had for around 3500, used K1 Merkels and K3's a bit less. Reasonably priced used ones are not plentiful. It took me almost 2 years to find my K95 and then about a year to find my current K1.

The 270 K95 barrel shot .30 moa with federal non typical 130 grain soft points ($17 at academy). It’s a damn impressive platform. My cousin who had never shot a rifle before and did not like a 223 ar was a happy camper shooting 2-3 inch groups with the k95. Mike

Took one of my Christmas presents to myself out to the range. A 308 K95 barrel and a Swarovski Z5 2.4-12x scope. Using PPU match ammo $15 box online and Admiral/Subsailor74 handloads with Sierra Match King 168 grain. The rifle after sight in shot .20 inch groups. Crazy accurate for a 5 pound multi barrel rifle. I am also getting good at shooting the K95. In recoil rankings 30/06 308 6.5 cm 270 I need to get another K95 soon Mike

Beautiful rifles,it's too bad they were not able to succeed in the DR market, two free floated barrels was a hell of an engineering concept DRSS

Lovely rifles. Mike: like that rifle with the Swaro scope. Scopesize there is just right. However I won’t remove my ironsights on mine. I think they belong on such rifle. DRSS: HQ Scandinavia. Chapters in Sweden & Norway

My barrels came without iron sights. I have barrels in 6.5 creedmoor, 270, 308 and 30/06. I need to get 2 more k95s - owill take a while as this one took nearly 2 years. I also have a higher end one attaché in 9.3x74 being built. Mike

Shot both rifles. I like the European stock better than the straight/American stock. The European was more recoil comfortable. These guns are so much fun to shoot and I am hoping 270 ammo is more available. I picked up Herter 270 at Bass Pro and it is made by Winchester. I should have bought the 5 boxes allowed. Mike

you can create a cancel culture petition and send it to blaser in germany. i am sure they will respond to it before they build my next k95. lazy socialist basically took 2020 off due to covid. Mike

are the mounts the same as the R93.
|

yes they are only thing from r93 that carried over to r8 was the scope mount. the k95 uses the same mount it’s simply the best mounting system - locks directly on the barrel. i move scopes from r8 to k95 and back and forth all the time. minimal adjustment from barrel to barrel. blaser barrels are simply awesome. That's the primary advantage to Blaser rifles over other switch-barrel designs. Once you scope it up and sight it in, the scope stays on the barrel. I used to have 6-8 scoped barrels lined up in the safe, along with the ammunition they were sighted in for.

Every Blaser barrel I have (12-14) I can move scopes between them. Across R8 and K95 from 204 ruger to 375 H&H and they will shoot into a paper plate. It is simply very expensive buying a new rifle that is not a blaser cause I have to price in a scope. With blasers I have more barrels than scopes. I just take scope off barrel move it to a new barrel. Shoot one round and make and an adjustment and I am on target. I just move a few high end scopes from barrel to barrel. I use frog painter tape to write what barrel the scope is currently sighted for and tape it onto the scope. Mike
