Can you make a ruger #1 silent to load and unload by removing/blocking the ejector spring so it only extracts and doesn't eject?

The #1s I've played with sound pretty loud to unload in the field before getting in a stand etc.

Yes you can do it by backing off the adjusment screw that compresses the ejector spring.
