I'm looking to get a no. 1 rebarreled. Is there any one out there who specializes in them? I'm looking for either recomendations or someone to stay away from. Thanks, BL

Did you supply the barrel? And, did you have to go thru an FFl? I have a #1V in 220 swift that has seen its last shot, throat is just burned out to bad to be accurate any more. Picked up a 25-06 bbl. and need to find someone to install it, don't have a local smith I would trust so it is going to have to travel. Having the factory do it sounds good.
Thanks for any info Wes

They would only replace an existing barrel with the same caliber. Now this is what they say but if you know someone maybe you could get it changed. But they won't put on some other barrel. However they have outside gunsmiths they work with.
Having a Ruger barrel on a #1 is a plus to me as I feel it looks better and is worth more. If you send them a rifle with some fancy trigger work however you may get your trigger back in a box and a factory trigger installed.
Dennis Olson is a fine gunsmith. Good prices, great work, and accurate rifles. He has barreled 4 rifles for me over the years using Liljas, all have been sub-moa. A man of few words but if you listen you can learn alot.
