just realized that my newly purchased encore has no markings on the reciever then the serial number which is 85,***. the barrel has ENCORE 209+50 MAGNUM.

can someone tell me if this is the encore i thought it waS? will the center fire barrels fit this action and will the other encore stocks fit as well?

being a "MAGNUM" what does this mean over a non-magnum?

i know lots of questions but the cost was just too good to pass on this as long as its what i think it is.

thanks in advance.

Ted

Yes, you have a genuine Encore and other centerfire barrels, stocks, etc. will fit it.

I don't know what kind of wood the stock is made from.

As for the name "MAGNUM;" I think it means about as much as the names Bob, Bill or Dick. It's just what they call it to make it sound more awesome.

Magnum just means you can shoot 150 gr. charges of Black powder or substitute.I think Grumulkin hit the nail on the head about using magnum to indicate its awesomeness!!!!! Big Grin
