while perusing the used guns at the store, i happened across a H&R Ultra in .308 for $179. it looked unused. temptation got the best of me and i bought it. well, i just got back from the range and the rifle shows promise. after shooting several rounds of surplus ammo to get the scope adjusted, i then cleaned the bore and shot a fouling shot at the 300yd 18" gong. after the report, there was the pleasant sound of lead hitting heavy metal. the next 3 shots were 1972 LC ammo that grouped 1" at 100 yds. hmm, i thought, lets see what it will do with my reloaded 165gr interbonds and varget powder. when working up a load, i only load up 2 rounds of each powder weight. i figure if the bullets don't come close to each other, why bother on that load. all 3 different loads placed bullets 1/2" or less apart. now to load up some more bullets and bring the chrony out.
