I have a nice performing 7.5x55 Swiss Martini match rifle made in the late 1800's, which I would like to get truly professionally restored finish-wise. The bore and chamber are minty, so they don't need any work. (I MIGHT decide to get the barrel-length pruned a bit though...it is currently somewhere just over 30".) The quality of work I'm looking for is at a level like Doug Turnbull's shop produces. I would send it to him in a heart-beat, but just don't really want to ship the rifle that far away. Any suggestions from you guys? My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

Alberta Canuck, One of the best restoration experts that I know is Pete Mazur in Grass Valley, CA. His phone # is (530) 268-2412. His work does not come cheaply, but there is none better. Tom

Thank you TSquare. Think I will call and chat with him to see what he thinks. Grass Valley is "sorta" on the way to my sister's home in Diamond Springs, so could visit both on one trip.
