Just thought some of you folks might like to see what wandered into my shop the other day. What's that you say? You say that you can't see anything much that's so unusual about this little action? Well, how about these other views? This is the lowest-numbered commercial Francotte Cadet I've ever seen. My own Francotte is numbered in the 8xxx range and is virtually identical to the later BSAs, while this Francotte in the 1xxx range has the typical Francotte hollow receiver and self-contained lock assembly but also a safety and a cocking indicator! This little action will become a custom rifle in due time, and I'm seeking other Francotte Cadet actions for the same purpose. So, whaddayagot? This little action belongs to a friend who wants it made into a custom rifle and I will happily oblige him. This is the only Cadet I've ever seen with the Francotte-patented en-bloc lock assembly as well as a wing safety and a cocking indicator! Apparently this model is quite rare and IMO it'll make up into a very fine custom indeed. I really like these Cadets and have a few parts for sale or trade as well as an orphan BSA CF action that would also make a nice custom rifle. I'm always looking for more Cadets, especially the Francottes. Regards, Joe __________________________ You can lead a human to logic but you can't make him think. NRA Life since 1976. PM Sent "There is a bloody brave little animal called the honey badger in Africa. It may be the meanest animal in the world. It kills for malice and for sport, and it does not go for the jugular-it goes straight for the groin. It has a hell of a lot in common with the modern American woman."
