I came across one of these yesterday in a local shop. It was the first one I'd ever seen w/ the full mannlicher stock. It was chambered in .22 Hornet and had a blond colored stock. The gun looked like every other H&R and NEF break action single shot that I've ever seen, except I noticed the pistol grip section on this one looked much slimmer and form fitting to the action. It was unlike the current production ones I've seen lately that look very chunky and ill fitting where the pistol grip mates to the receiver.
Is this an unusual/rare gun? Or perhaps a custom stocked model? Any and all help is appreciated.
biglmbass: I have never heard of one but I would be very interested in one - the standard Handi-Rifles are fine pieces for the money spent, but I find their fore-ends to be too short for my handling comfort and would appreciate a Mannlicher version.

The mannlicher forend is just longer than the standard forend, still a 2 piece stock. Here's a pic of the mannlicher stock on a buffalo classic with a 32" barrel.

This model is original H&R production. They ppear on gun auction sites from time to time. Command a better price then the comparable standard rifle versions.

I have seen one of these too at a shop. I asked the owner about it. He said that it was just an old H&R. It isnt really all that rare just never caught on that well. The price was just about the same maybe 225 or less.
