I found this picture whilst going thru a book on British single shots that Jack Haugh had given me years ago when he visited for a few days.

I was taken by the clean and elegant lines of this rifle. It's one of those where you would never want to change a thing.

I managed to scan the picture out of the book. Here it is... the best I can do.

There's something wrong with the way the fore end tip looks in the bottom pic. That's the way it was in the book.

I was quite taken with this rifle when I first saw the pic. It seems Old Nubs knew what an elegant rifle looked like.

I'll have to find the book again. It was literally a gift from Jack Haugh when he visited years ago. I was looking thru the book a while back and came upon this picture and scanned it.

The picture above is from page 215 of that great book, "The British Falling Block Breechloading Rifle from 1865", authored by Jonathan Kirton.

It appears the bottom pic is not the same rifle as the top. I don't find it so objectionable though.
