Ruger had thoughts about offering a basic, entry level Schuetzen type of rifle about twenty (?) years ago. They made a run of heavy barreled ones in 38-55 and 32-40. Only once as far as I know. Nice gesture and I did see a couple back in the days of Coors Schuetzenfest Matches.
