I paid $500 for #1B in .257 Bob. It is about 98 percent. Any #1 in my neck of the woods has been $600 or higher lately with the jump in prices climbing in just the last year. Paul B.

There was a special edition in stainless walnut, perhaps it's price reflects the ltd. mfg, but demand may not be high enough to change it a lot. Just a tidbit.

In Canada the Standard 1B costs 939.95 plus 6% Federal sales tax 996.35. Used ones selling for 650 to 775 a real mint and rare model 800-1000Can. So 650 USD is 715 Canadian. I guess the prices are about the same. At these prices I think they are well worth the money. Some times a guy finds a real sleeper for 600 Can I got a very good one for that in 243. At the Puyallup gunshow they move fast at $475, many go home unsold at $575. All the half dozen used #1s were reasonably priced at DJs in Bothel at ~$500, I stopped by last week, and they were all gone. So used #1s may be going up.

A roberts is fairly rare in a #1 so you might pay a bit more for it. I picked up a 1A in 7X57 with a 4 power leupold for 525.00 in Forest grove Ore. Sold the scope for 100.00 so I guess I paid 425.00. Its in about 90% A 1A in .257R would be cool! ...tj3006 freedom1st

Good score Mr. Jones! I'd do that in a heartbeat myself. Too bad the shops of the great northwoods are full of "Minnesota Machineguns" (Remmy 740s & 742s)

I just sold a #1 RSI in 7 x 57 with a leupold 1.5 x 5 scope, minty, for $850 and the guy was happy with that. Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild

I wonder what the attraction would be? I really like the Roberts in a boltgun, but you go for the single shot rifle out of nostalgia and esthetics as a rule. That said, I would buy or build a SS based on a long range plains game cartridge, ie 300H&H or 9,3x74R with a long barrel 26-28". The Roberts just seems to be a... just not a good choice where magazine length is not restricting the choice of cartridges in a given caliber. Rich DRSS
