Recently my grandfather passed away. I wanted to have a rifle built in his honor and immediately thought of the Lux! So I contacted them via e-mail and Adam got back to me right away.

Very excited about the project. Adam is vert attentive to you questions and so far damn easy to worh with.

Some of you don't like the red recoil pad, but I do. Also went with a target crown and the caliber will be the tried and tru 06!

For those like me with the patience of a 2 year-old, Trop's in PA and Hendershot's in MD have Luxus Model 11 rifles in stock.

Biebs,
Our turn-around is very fast all things considered (around six months) and in comparison to other makers, pretty fast.
What can, and does, extend time is outsourcing certain things like...engraving.

Biscut, since you made this public I will play along too. =)

You can pick your stock in public!

I realize you asked for a stock that was plain and not so high grade, problem is this is the lowest grade we have...

Adam,

I guess I'lll have to suffer dancing with #5! They are all damn nice! But #5 it shall be.

And 6 months for a product like the Model 11 including engraving sure isn't long to wait! I've waited longer for Jerry Stiller to get me actions!

Thanks Adam.

Biscut, #5 is now in your box for your rifle.

Mikelravy, well, we build them all right in here at our factory in Ohio. They are CNC machined from billet 4140. They are a take-down, switch-barrel rifle capable of firing 22 Hornet on up to 375 H&H all on the same frame.
The gun comes standard with high grade wood. That said, our friendly Biscut asked that his stock be a lower grade as he did not wish to have a rifle that was too fancy for the woods.
So, that actually posed an issue, I had to look for the lowest grades...that would be those above.
Please visit the website.
www.luxusarms.com
There you will find photos and details and pricing.
Thanks.

Biebs...your a trouble maker! =)

Great to do business in the States--with fellows that are just as crazy about guns as I am. The guys at Luxus are super nice and my model 11 in super. Good luck with your build. I say a 7x57 with 24 or 26 in barrel would be the nuts!!!!

The worst of those choices was magnificant. Not to pile on but Adam and Clay were excellent to work with and I look forward to their success.
Thanks guys for a terrific rifle!

I have visited their facility several times as they have grown. They are great guys and have an eye for precision, functionality and art. I feel the Model 11 rolls all this into one package with reasonable delivery times and a great price for an heirloom quality rifle. I own one and I will own another...maybe two. Buy with confidence.

Lovely

I would be interested in a bit more of a close up view of the 'off' side - can't quite make out the detail of the screw. What's the safety/hammer arrangement?

Interested in why only rimless cartridges are offered in a breakopen. Rimmed takes convenience to another level!

while casually checkingout another website/forum(24hourcampfire or something like that i think)i read posts by a couple of guys knocking the model 11 and the Luxus company really bad. i don't understand why. from what i've seen i can find absolutely nothing at all wrong with the model 11 or the company either. but when it comes to people i guess there's one in every crowd who has to be negative and try to find fault in everything. i'd bet anything they've never even held a model 11 or done business with the company. after taking a look at one i'm buying a Luxus stocked rifle for myself because i liked what i saw very much. i hope very much to have many more similar looking guns in my collection.

Pez,
I know exactly the thread you are talking about. I read it all then waded in, keeping the discussion on the rifle and not on Adam. There are some guys who aren't happy unless they can attempt to diminish the efforts of others. The last time I checked the thread, it had gone cold.

thanks guys.
There are a couple guys who seem to love mud. Out of thousands there are a couple. I truthfully do not think they have ever bought anything from us...and I am certain they never met any of us. Probably they are friends with someone who used to sell walnut blanks, and/or still do. Thats about the only thing that makes sense.
Either way it is best to ignore them..they can read about the new Model 11 at the price they claimed would not happen! Smiler
Thanks again guys.

While I have yet to see one of these new Model 11's I do have 2 rifles in the safe that are dressed in the finest wood I think that Luxus can supply. One of them even has the serial number LUX00(X)! Great wood and the gents there have gone out of their way to speak to me over a minor glitch.

#5 would of been my choice as well. I have a custom mannlicher stocked Ruger 96/44 lever action with very similar figure and color. What grade were you placing on #5? Just curious as to what I have. Got the rifle used and I stole it pricewise. What the wood grades out I think is the deciding factor of if I am going to hell over the deal. Roll Eyes

mike7mm08 the blank nu. 5 would be a grade 2.5-3 on a scale of 5. Personally I would grade it at 3. It has great density.

Mike Brooks, thanks for the kind words.

Biscut,
Smiler nice scope! Your barrel and action are finished and blued. Your stock 95% finished. Your grip cap is engraved and waiting for blue. Pretty much on to the first assembly and shooting after that. Get ready!

Phil, We are building 4 or 5 "shop" guns because writers are wanting them from about every corner. One of those will be headed your way for a rough Alaskan season of hunting.

Biebs, That stock you picked is stunning. It is easy for us to get a little strong about grading because we see so much of it daily, but there is no one who would not like that stock of yours.

Great news for me. That was not a long wait at all.

Adam called me to let me know they were playing with a few barrel contours and that he had additional barrels in other chanbers to offer at a reduced price.

The price was to my liking (THANKS ADAM!!) and besides the 06 originally ordered, there shall be a 270 Win and 300 Win Mag to boot. Couldn't say no!!

Now, if only Adam can find a 338-06 or a 338 Win Mag -- that would be pure bliss.

One of these days I will have one those rifles too. The wood in the gallery is something I have never seen. No words can describe them. The only thing missing is an octagon barrel. I know it would add some more money. But after spending over four bills, another 3 or 400 would not break the bank. What do you think Adam. Can you do it. I milled octogon barrels on a couple Ruger #1 to lighten the barrels. The final finishing is where all the work is specially when you do it by hand. But there is machinery that make short work of that.salute:

Picked up my LUX!! WOW!! Words cannot describe. Fit and finish is impeciable. Mechanically everthing seems just right. Tolerances are snug and the trigger is crisp...just right for a hunting rifle.

I've had multiple custom's built using Stiller actions, Hart barrels, McMillian stocks, and Jewel triggers. NEVER have I sat and just stared at any of em like I have this one.

Very special thanks to Adam, great job. Everything, including the the memorial engraving on the grip was just as I had asked.

A very nice treat was the super deal on acompaning 300WM and 270 barrels to go along with the 06 I ordered.

There is no way in HELL I can not find a way to order another one of these. Anyone who may be on the fence, they are worth every dime. There is not a single flaw or even a bitch (except the cocking mechanism is set up for U damn righties) to find.
