I had one in 30-30 over a 20 ga some twenty + years ago. It was the only rifle I had at the time. I used it for every thing. I learned later that it had a bad triger and bad sights. I loved it, it did every thing I needed it to do. I have been thinking of getting one to keep in my truck. The old one I had had a wood stock. Get it they are not great at any thing but they do every thing.

Enjoy life, it drives the people around you nuts.

They may have gotten better, but 20-30 years ago, the barrels were often wildly off. You could sometimes shoot at a 25 yard target with the rifle barrel, take the same sight hold, fire the shotgun barrel and get a pattern that did not touch the rifle shot.

I once had one that was a double rifle in .357 mag. Either barrel would group about 1.5 inches at 50 yards with the factory iron sights, but the points of impact were a good 4" apart. I sold it quick.

I have one in .22 Hornet over a 12 ga. No, it is not an ideal gun, but if you are lucky, it may just fill that niche. Use mine for turkey. Am currently having the trigger worked on. The Russian, EAA guns have come a long way in the last few years. You might look at them.

I have a 24DL(22 Mag/20) and a 24V in 22Hornet/20 guage that I bought in '84 and use them for everything except deer. Just took a 16 lb jake with the 24V 2 days ago at around 75 yds with the Hornet barrel. Use 50 gr Hornady's at around 2400 fps and they expand instead of blowing up. Head/chest shot an awful lot of squirrels with that rifle/load. Farthest I've killed a turkey with the 20 guage barrel is around 45 yds using 3" number 4 shot. I'm lucky in that both barrels shoot to the same POI with the old Bushnell scope I've mounted on it. The 24 DL is my usual squirrel gun (also carries a Bushnell), and the longest shot I ever made on a squirrel(85 yds) was with it. Big ol' Virginia fox squirrel standing upright against a setting sun. Seems I've always had a 24 of some sort lying around since I was a kid, and they've all done what they're supposed to do.
