I picked up my new 9.3 two weeks ago and finally got the time to take it to the range on Friday. I had 232 gr. Oryx and .286gr Nosler partition loads for the initial test. Both loads produced a 3/4 inch 3 shot group at the 50 yard mark. Didn't have time to stretch it out beyond that mark. I think for the first time out, it looks like a keeper? What are some of the results of others here on the 9.3 X 74R in a Ruger #1 ?? Any additional information on favorite loads and such with this combination would be appreciated. Mines scoped with a Leupold 1 3/4 X 6 Vari X III and handles really nice as well. Larry Sellers

Thanks for the update. I have a #1 in the 450/400 and am looking at some in the 9.3x74 as well. I am looking for one with nice wood though so I will shop until I find a decent one. Most of them have pretty plain wood though.

LRH, Yes, yours has nice wood and that is about what I am looking for, but in the factory form. I don't want to rebarrel or restock one. Those exit wounds for the 286gr partitions are very impressive. I never would have guessed there would be that much destruction from a heavy bullet at medium velocity. Woody

It's a rebarrel but the wood is factory. ______________________ RMEF Life Member SCI DRSS Chapuis 9,3/9,3 + 20/20 Simson 12/12/9,3 Zoli 7x57R/12 Kreighoff .470/.470 We band of 9,3ers! The Few. The Pissed. The Taxpayers.
