| I decided to build a custom single shot and even acquired an action. Luckily for me, I found Bailey b/4 I spent any more money. The Hagn is very nice, but only Bailey builds a Bradshaw. You will not be disappointed. |

| Not in the same category, but a Ruger No 1 or 3 can make a pretty nice budget custom build. |

| Thanks for the replies everyone, just back in town from some work and catching up on the fourms. Grenadier gave me the contact info for Martin Hagn so I've asked him direct, and Bailey has replied and is working on a quote to give me. For sure Mike the Ruger action is a great one, I'm just exploring the options first to see what Im in for $ wise. I may even just shell out for a Hagn and sit on it until I have the funds for the rest of the rifle and work. The things we do for our addiction Subsailor Im going to do a little researching on the Searcy action now, thanks! |

| The Hagn is the absolute finest modern hunting rifle action made. It is in a class by itself...

| SDH I read the post on the making of that rifle...that's art no doubt about it!
Couple of questions. How do you find the recoil with the steel buttplate? And do you find it slips or moves around at all on the shoulder?
Secondly do you mind posting a close up of the front sight, if you have one? Im debating between an octagonal to round and oct barrel, and just wondering what the front sight options are.
Thansk for posting, beautiful gun! |
