Okay, posting just that one photo of a unique rig like that is such a tease. Now that you've got it down, give us some more! Smiler

I will try again.
This was made in the early 70s by Sam Lair. This particular one was built for Charlie Williams. He was Sam's friend. Charlie built the trigger that became the Shilen trigger and he also made BR receivers. They were called Benchmasters. Sam was as crusty a person that I have ever met. That is another story for another time.

I haven't learned how to put more than one pic on a post yet.
I was told that the stock is myrtlewood. I have a ladder type scope mount that mounts on top of the receiver. It was drilled and tapped when it was built. The trigger is fully adjustable and he used Shilen barrels.

Very nice looking rifle, Butch. I'd be proud to own it, expecially S/N 002. Besides the fully adjustable trigger, are there any other improvements Sam made over the Ruger? Was this particular rifle to be a dedicated paper-puncher (can't quite tell the barrel profile)?

Ian,
It has a #4 Shilen contour. It is a hunting rifle. Ian, I only had one #1 and it was in 7STW with a Shilen #5 stainless barrel and a Kipplinger trigger. It was a shooter! It has been yrs. since I had the Hyper-Single apart and can't answer your questions.

Mike Bryant and I ended up with an unfinished receiver each. I gave mine to aleaddict on this forum several years ago. I don't believe that he has done anything with it as I have done nothing with the 10xx 10-22 receiver that he gave me. Mike Bryant of Bryants Custom Guns may part with his as he just doesn't have the time for personal projects.
