What is a reasonable level of accuracy one could expect from an Encore rifle? Praise be to the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.

Whats a reasonable level that the operator of the Encore can shoot (it ain't all about the gun). Understanding how to shoot and use breakaction rifles goes along ways toward getting them to shoot very well. Most will easily outshoot their owners. In a varmint chambering 3 shot groups less than an inch at 100. In a BG chambering > 1.5"

I have 2 encores and both shoot good. I can usually get 1" groups at 100 yds. One of my rifles is in 300 win mag the other is a 375h&h. They are both standard rifles the 375 has a thumbhole laminate stock and forearm and the 300 has a composite stock set. The key to shooting any rifle is to shoot often. I have cut back on my practice in the past couple of years and it shows at the range. Encores are like most rifles they will shoot a lot better than most of us can. The main key to a rifle is to have confidance in the rifle you use.

I've shot encores for quite a few years in both rifle and pistol calibers, but no "big game" rifle calibers. .338 custom barrel in a pistol (shilen) shoot 3 shots around 1" @ 100 wih the loads, but it is picky. Some combinations group closer to 3". .223 custom pistol barrel barrel shoots (shilen) shoot everything under 1" @ 100, usually w/ 5 shot groups. .260 factory pistol barrel. Most loads will break under 1" @100 (3 shots), with a few loads crowding the .5" range w/ regularity. .223 26" SS factory, five shot groups are all most all under 1" @100, some 3 shot groups regularly in the .5-.6 range w/ some loads. .204 26" SS factory. Never had a single group over 1" except in the 40 gr. Hornady's which it wouldn't stablize. 32 gr loads average under .5 w/ 3 shot groups, most being in the high .2s to low .4s. My only complaint about factory barrels is they tend to be long throated and rough bores. I used Tubbs final finish and that helped a great deal.

Here is a 1.5 inch group shot at 200 yards with a T/C Encore handgun in 460 S&W Magnum. I've shot scoped Encore rifles in .223 Remington, 22-250 Remington, 270 Winchester, 7mm Remington Magnum, 308 Winchester, 30/06 Springfield and 375 H&H Magnum. All would shoot less than an inch at 100 yards except the 375 H&H Mag. which I could only get to do 1.5 inch groups. These were all factory barrels and not a rough bore among them. A 500 S&W Handgun barrel will do 1 to 1.5 inches at 100 yards. I've also shot scoped Contender barrels in 222 Remington, 204 Ruger and 223 Rem. AI (all factory barrels as well). The 223 Rem. AI is a handgun barrel. These also do well under an inch. The 204 Ruger barrel will do 1/2 inch or less with 45 grain Hornady SP over RL-15. A 44 Rem. Mag handgun barrel made by SSK Industries does about an inch at 100 yards. In conclusion, in my experience, an Encore or Contender barrel in calibers up to .224 will probably do better than 0.75 inch 100 yard groups. Calibers up to .308 should do less than or equal to an inch at 100 yards. The larger bore offerings should do 1.5 inches or less at 100 yards. All of the above apply to handloads. I hardly ever fire factory loaded cartridges.
