Could the Ruger No.1 H be chambered in 577 Tyrannosaur by say SSK indusries?Or is this not possible.

When I built my 500 Nitro on #1, my smith had to machine a little off the top of the breach block to clear the rim.
I think 577 might be a bit too much!

.577 T rex is not possible. .577 Nitro is doable but only on older guns within a serial # range. SSK used to do a .577 nitro straightened out to .600 called the .600JDJ. Very very nasty. These guns get very brutal in these chamberingd unless some serious counter measures are taken.....ie: breaks, recoil reducers, added weight and so on. I've shot a .577 nitro on a #1 and it's not somrthing I would like to repeat. [Eek!]

jr i shot a ruger 1 that went 14 pounds (added weight) and it was not bad at all to shoot

119grs of rel 15 fed 215 mag primer and a 750 grn woodleigh fmj at 2050. excellent load and comfortable out of that gun.

ssk still makes 577nitros and 600 jdjs.
