I noticed both of these for sale on Gunbroker and got the "i wants", anyone have one yet, dont know much about the brit, but the 30-30 has to be a great round for a single shot.

Brit for sure. It has that "single-shot" feel about it.

Not true.(unfortunately)

Ruger decided to make it a standard catalog chambering for now..

My $$ is on the 30-30 being the most rare down the road.

Collecting or hunting?

IMHO I think that BOTH cartridges have faults. The 303 has a fairly limited selection of bullet weights (although, that said, 150 grain and 175 grain is pretty much all that you need).

30-30 whilst fairly low power has a wider selection of bullet as it is a 308...but 30-40 Krag really would be better.

In fact I can't see the point as if you are going to restrict yourself to 30-30 you'd probably be better off with a Winchester or Marlin Lever Action.

FWIW I think that a Ruger Single Shot in 300 Holland and Holland RIMMED would be something well worth having...

The 30-30 seems under powered for a single shot. I'd definitely go for the .303

Even my spell checker wants to replace Obama, it just doesn't have any suggestions.

ok fellows ! all those dufferent bullet weights are fine 30 caliber has at my last check 3 different twists 10,12,14 so for 10 twist heavy bullets , 12 twist medium weights ,14 very light bullets , Now that is for deadly accurate shooting for a specific range like out to 400 yds , as for the 30-40 that would be my choice but what is the twist in barrel ? 1in12 would be the choice if you are shooting 150 up to 180grn bullets for north american big game !Polar bears are no longer in season ! I think ?? grizzleys don't know ? I personally don't need more than a 180 grain to kill anything , if you need more then you are in africa !

Don't take the chip !
