Anyone see a 9.3X74 for sale as a standard offering anywhere? I was thinking it would be a good addition to my current use of that caliber. Packy

www.matchgrademachine.com offers the 9.3x64.

Their work is superb and the turnaround quick. thumb

If you are lucky, they may even have one in their existing inventory.

+1 on MGM. They are good folks. I just received an encore barrel with a triangular contour that, if it shoots as good as it looks, I'll be getting more of them.

Chalk up another vote for MGM, they have done 4 barrels for me and each one is fantastic in accuracy and workmanship. my favorite from them is my 14 inch Encore barrel in 7.62x39mm. I'll be ordering 2 more barrels as soon as I can think up what calibers I want now.

I was thinking about the X74 for the rim. The X64 would be more of a good thing. Possibly with an efficient muzzle brake in the X74. Thanks for the link. Packy

I have a 9.3x74R barrel that I just had Bullberry put together using a Shilen Blank and a Manson Reamer. However, I don't think any of the barrel makers are chambering this one (e.g. actually have reamers on hand).

I love mine, it's accuracy is superb. And it loads easily as can be, pulling the spent brass out is as simple as can be.

Mine has a 26" barrel, and is unbraked. It thumps you pretty good, but I've also only got a 1/2" recoil pad. With a thicker pad, it would certainly be less noticeable. Recoil on this isn't that big a deal, though. I scoped it with a VXIII 1.5-5 in Leupold QD rings, and I have backup XS sights mounted on the weaver base.

I'm loading with 300 grain Swift A-frames (actually wanted to start of with 286 gr partitions, but no one had any in stock last fall) over 56.0 grains of IMR 4064.

I'm looking forward to taking it after Eland and Kudu in a couple of years. In the meanwhile, I'll take it for whitetail, hogs, and axis deer whenever I get.

Troy

Bullberry will be making one for me (my wife) in the next couple of months. He'll have the reamer if you want to order a 9.3x74...

I am ordering the barrel from Lilja, fyi
