I have had mine for 4 years and I'd say it is as accurate as any factory rifle (on average I'd say my barrels are probably better than most factory barrels). I like it and have no plans to get rid of it.

The only problem with buying an Encore is the number of barrels you can get for it keeps increasing, and my wallet doesn't allow me to buy as many as I want.

I'm unsure of your last question. Are you asking if the rifle can be carried with a round in the chamber? If so, then I say yes. I still hunt with my Encore so it stays loaded while I'm in the woods, most of the time my thumb is over the hammer so that I keep control of it. Sean

I wouldn't say they are UGLY, I'd say they are unique and one-of-a-kind!

I own two of them and love them both!

I have 3 Encore frames and to many barrels to mention. I find them every bit as accurate as any other gun. As for carrying a round in the chamber, yes you can. The trigger has to be pulled to make the hammer strike the firing pin. When the gun is not cocked the hammer sits in a locked position and will not go forward. It is a built in safety device.

Dave, great photo's, what caliber is that, one of the short mags? I'm trying to interpolate with 72 grains of powder I just can't figure other than maybe one of the SM's. Nice shooting--
Thanks--Don

I have the Encore in the stainless model. I started out with the 50 cal muzzle loader, and continued with 300win, 20ga shot-gun, 338-06, and 308 pistol. I have found the accuracy to be as good as the loads you work up. Which means excellent.
The gun in all its configurations are a pleasure to carry. You have a 24" barrel length yet you have the handling of a carbine.
The frame is versitile,

The encores are accurate. I am in the process of putting together an encore in 7mm Tooley. OTT will be doing the barrel work. Will be using a Kreiger blank crowned at 28". The Tooley is based off the 8x68 RWS case. Basically mirrors the 300WM but doesnt have that stinkin belt. Velocities should run around 35 to 3600 with 140 grain bullets. And with OTT's accuracy guarantee...u cant go wrong with their barrels.

Hi, I have noticed all the different manufactures in this thread. I have dealt with Thompson Center and Bullberries. They each have their own fore-ends to fit the barrels. Is this seperate fore-end required on the other manufactures systems? Thanks Single*Shot
