This moose was hit with a 375 Barnes XPB. My rifle shoots these at 1930 with my handloads. The moose was facing me at 20 feet or so. I took the head shot and hit it in the nose about 4 inches from the tip of the nose. At the angle the moose was facing this was right between the eyes. The bullet did hit about an inch low though and even though the moose dropped at the shot it was back up 10 seconds later. The bullet went through the head and missed the spine by a hair. This caused enough damaged that the moose still bled to death pretty much. The moose did lift its head when I got to it and I put the one shot closer to the eyes which fininshed the chase. The moose had ran about 75 yards. -------------------- THANOS WAS RIGHT!

Very nice! How much damage did those bullets do? Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too! Recent college grad, started a company called MK Machining where I'm developing a bullpup rifle chassis system.

They drilled a big hole right on through. I had the head and was looking forward to pulling the bullet out. I turned the head and could see the wound channel pretty easy. You could have pushed a quarter through it easy. -------------------- THANOS WAS RIGHT!

NICE! I'm taking along the same rifle elk hunting this year, just in case I feel like traveling about in the super thick stuff. Those things sure do thump though, dont they? lol If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!
