Wondering if anyone used any aftermarket rings? Considering any sleek sturdy options for my K1A.....

Any info on options, experience welcome. Looked at Leupold online and not sure on design as to how it compares in strength to factory rings.

Looks like Warne and Talley have some options, any others? Cannot call mfg. today but also wanting 1st hand feedback if anyone has any to give.

Thanks.

6.5BR,

I just picked up a K1A in 35 Whelen "limited" No.1. I own several Rugers in various calibers and configurations. Ruger knows what they are doing. I don't know what scope that you plan on using or if you want a detachable setup?

If you have a 35 Whelen there is an archived article of intesrest...Limited 35 Whelen No.1 Ruger Single. The date is October 3,2006.

There are many options...my suggestion is to sight in with the iron sights, and takes notes, and mount it on your stock. Mount your scope and sight it in. If your scope gets damaged in the field, you can remove it with a quarter, and continue the hunt.

Lastly if you don't like the ring size that you got with the gun, Ruger has been very good with an exchange...just give them a call.

Good shooting,

Glenn
