Your answer is yes and no. To start with Kepplinger triggers are not made anymore he is retired. Yes, if you don't know how to install a Kepplinger trigger. The trigger addresses only the set stage. The unset stage needs to be done by honing the sear or honing the the hammer notch. I did my own installation and and made the unset weight 2-lbs and the set weight 16oz. I had to solder a strip of metal to the sear leaver because the Keplinger trigger did not reach this leaver and therefore did not release the hammer. I am saying you need get a smith to install a Keplinger trigger, unless you got the expertise to do it yourself. Fred M Fred M. zermel@shaw.ca

Fred, thanks for that, looks like I will have to look elsewhere for a trigger for my No 1. regards G

Hi Griff. What I suggest is, take the rifle to a smith and have him hone the hammer notch on a slight angle to two lbs, or whatever weight you prefer. The biggest job about that is the testing, because you have to take the action down for the test. Being care full not to remove to much metal at once. I have done that to several Rugers #1 that I own. This minor modification I find totally satisfactory. The let off is clean with no drag or creep. The Kepplinger trigger is a fine system you might find a used one. Fred M. Fred M. zermel@shaw.ca
