you might discuss this with Wayne at Z-hat customs. Looks like you could go to a 300 hawk. or you could get a chamber cast of your own chamber and get dies to suit.

Quote: So what do I do now? I have no confidence at all in Mossberg's ability to fix this problem. It's not that I don't have something to hunt with (I've got a different rifle for each day of the month), But when I buy something, I want it to work!
Well, if you want to use it, (and in its' present condition, it would be criminal to sell it unless you find someone willing to take it as is), you can neck up some '06 brass to 8mm or larger, or buy some .35 Whelen or .338/'06 brass, then use your FL die to make them just barely fit the chamber enough to permit you to close the breech. Then fire-form them to the sloppy chamber and adjust the resizing die accordingly the next time you load them. This is the same approach you'd use to make .30 Gibbs cases.
A slightly more expensive solution is to have the barrel rechambered to .30 Gibbs or another .30 case that has the shoulder farther forward than the standard '06.
