Found a Stevens single shot rifle in 25-20. Barrel stamping does not have SS after the caliber. Shootable bore, barrel has open sights with barrel drilled for scope. Action has blued action. Action seems crisp and trigger pull is also crisp.2 piece stock is OK has a cresent butt. Asking price is $ 895. Is this a good investment?
Thanks!

My thoughts as well. I think it's a little rich.

My guesstimate.. since this is a single shot, I suspect you should think .25/20 Single shot, unless it says .25/20 WCF. Or try a case. .218 bee was the .25/20 Repeater necked down. Single shot was much longer... and narrower I think. Not the gun to convert to .256 Mag.

If it is mint and that was hard to preserve in black powder guns that got shot... Seems a bit high, but then... You got the bucks and want it...enjoy. Happy trails.
