The new scope is Zeiss Victory 3-12x56 with reticle # 40 /red dot.

To be able to mount the scope far enough aft, and give it enough height, I changed the original rail with a two pice rail from Brownells and rings from Warne, all in steel.

This rig is to be used for dusk and dawn hunting from high stands for red deer and roe deer.

We also do a lot of hunting on moon lit fields during the fall when there is frost or snow on the ground.
It is very steady, accurate and with the new scope, will suit this kind of hunting perfect.

Will also develope new loads for this one, 150 grn Woodleigh PP.

Looks like a good setup. What caliber is it in?

Calibre is 270 Winchester.
Have used 150 grn Fusion and 150 gr Sierra Game King both with exellent results.

This rifle is a real shooter, heavy and steady thumb

Very nice setup. This is the 1st time I have seen the Warne solution in photos. It looks good. Obviously the glass is very nice as well. It will serve your needs perfectly.

If you're hunting by moonlight it looks like you're all set. Is that your blue wildebeest it's lying on?

Thank´s guys.
Yes this rig is ment for posting along open fields where the nocturnal red deer usually come in at dusk, feeds during the night and leaves for the woods at the first lights of dawn.

Here in Norway it is also legally to hunt at night when there is enough light to se and pick the right deer.
When there are snow on the ground, or frost, and the moon is up, a rig like this gives you an edge Smiler

The scope is top of the line for this kind of hunting and is very clear.
The mounting set up looks and feels ok, but I guess it would had not won me a price in an a beauty contest.
Anyway, this is a working rig for a special kind of hunting.

When I take to the woods I´ll grab another rifle though Wink

Yes nordrseta, that flatskin is my blue wildebeest
