For those of you who have a ruger no. 1, 450/400 3", what have you hunted/killed with it, and with what loads? Doesn't neccessarily mean african game, although that would be great to hear about. Hogs, bears, etc., also.

Anders it is 13 and 5'8s inches. I think you could get there with a full size kick eeze pad and a 1/2 inch piece of delrin or some other plastic to make it longer.

It’s a little bit more than most people need.

Thanks!
Talked to my local dealer and he's about to check if Ruger might make them longer.. I guess this is quite seldom on factory rifles, but worth a try..
Longer pad plus spacer is the way to go unless success with factory.

I just picked one up for my wife there are a few out there, I would imagine that they will continue as long as it is profitable.

Switched to using mine for PG in Zim, after I shot my buffalo and elephant with my 416 Ruger. Killed a really nice bushbuck and an impala with it, and had lots of opportunities for other stuff but didn't bother. My PH loved it and when we had a shooting contest the last day, everyone thought it was a great gun.

It is handy and packed well, and when I replaced the stock recoil pad with a thick Kickeze one, I kept the LOP at 13 3/4". That is just about perfect for me with the 2.5X Leupold on it. I didn't feel bad walking around with all the eles and buffalo when I had it along. Took 400 grain DGX and DGS for both rifles; in case something happened, I wanted to be able to hunt with either one.The bushbuck was a long shot at 180 yards, but sure put it down hard.

Hopefully, I can try it on a deer, elk, and bear this Fall.
